Denver Restaurant Guide

I often get questions about my favorite food spots in Denver. I decided to put together a Denver Restaurant Guide as an easy reference for visitors! These are the places that I tend to recommend most often.

Breakfast/Brunch

  • Devil’s Food Cookery (love their quiche of the day and brunch punch)
  • Sassafras (they have mimosa flights!)
  • Lucile’s Creole Cafe (the chicory iced coffee + eggs pontchartrain is to die for)
  • City O’ City (great vegan/vegetarian options. Must try the cauliflower & waffles)
  • Denver Biscuit Company (this is definitely a heavier option, but so delicious)
  • Waffle Brothers (casual, order at the counter style spot serving delicious waffles with fun toppings and outdoor seating)

Coffee

  • Nixon’s (great coffee + kombucha on tap)
  • Stella’s Gourmet (grab an espresso after dinner on South Pearl, then sit by the fire pits outside and soak up the great atmosphere.)
  • Thump (awesome food menu, I recommend the iced latte)
  • Carbon Cafe & Bar (coffee by day, cocktails by night. Try the cinnamon roll!)
  • Hoja (worth a trip for the iced cafe de olla, totally gram worthy)

Lunch

  • Brider (great sandwiches, salads, coffee & beer list)
  • Pho 95 (the broth is insanely flavorful and it’s enough to last 2-3 meals)
  • Vert Kitchen (super cute space and seasonal menu; very small with limited seating)
  • Denver Central Market (I love the salads from Green Seed Market)
  • Chook Chicken (fresh and interesting menu including plenty of veg-heavy sides to go with their delicious chicken entrees)
  • Vital Root (upscale but fast casual vegetarian food in a funky atmosphere and great outdoor seating).
  • Gates Deli & Grog (an awesome sandwich shop connected to Platt Park Brewery!)

Happy Hour

  • Los Chingones (try the spicy marg + garden guac)
  • Postino (great wine specials and shareable bruschetta boards)
  • Homegrown Tap & Dough (great wine specials during happy hour, extensive beer list, fabulous pizza)
  • Bar Dough (aperol spritz + mountain man pizza. If you watched Top Chef Denver, you might remember Chef Carrie)
  • Work & Class (fun happy hour vibe and drinks in a bustling part of town)
  • Improper City (rotating food trucks, espresso bar, great beer/cocktail list)
  • Joy Hill Pizza (great rooftop patio)

Dinner

  • Linger (amazing experience, global street food concept, shareable plates)
  • The Kitchen (more of an upscale dining experience, great special occasion spot)
  • Acorn (shareable plates, very creative food + cocktails)
  • Ototo (ramen)
  • Osteria Marco (love the location on Larimer Square)
  • Avanti Food & Beverage (food court style so everyone can choose what they want)
  • Uchi (contemporary Japanese food and fantastic service)
  • Acreage (this is Stem Cider’s restaurant concept and has a fun, farmhouse vibe. Small, interesting menu and unique cider & cider cocktails).

Wine + Cocktails

  • Infinite Monkey Theorem (an urban winery in the RiNo district with a great outdoor patio)
  • Hearth & Dram (if you like whiskey, this place is a must! great non-whisky cocktails too)
  • Izakaya Den (sushi bar with a classy upstairs bar for when you get a little bit more dressed up)
  • Mercantile Dining & Provision (gorgeous whimsical space in Union Station)
  • Death & Co (inside The Ramble Hotel and a great spot for a pre or post-dinner cocktail in the RiNo neighborhood)

Beer & Cider

  • The Farmhouse (kid-friendly, large outdoor space, great beer)
  • Declaration (live music often, trivia, shaded outside area, food trucks)
  • Jagged Mountain (perfect for pre-Rockies game since it’s near the ball park)
  • Denver Beer Co. (easily accessible as its right off the highway, love the Princess Yum Yum raspberry kolsch)
  • Stem Ciders (try the salted cucumber if it’s summer, and the raspberry)

Ice Cream

  • Sweet Cow (delicious and creative flavors, try the grand marnier chocolate chip)
  • Little Man (fun location in LoHi, long lines are worth the wait! known for their salted oreo)
